Athens United Soccer Association is pleased to announce the Athens 32st Invitational Tournament, a pre-season invitational for boys and girls competitive teams, August 17,18 &19, 2007. Our tournament will be headquartered at the James Holland (Athens-Clarke County) Youth Sports Complex, with additional nearby sites in Athens. To start your season on a high note, we invite you to submit an application to participate in a tournament open to all competitive levels. The deadline for returning applications is July 27, 2007, with acceptance packets being emailed to contact person listed on application by August 3, 2007.

The Tournament Committee is planning schedules with a maximum number of eight teams at each competitive level in any age group. If any group has fewer applicants than that number, the number of participating teams in another group may be increased. Maximum number of players on a team’s official roster is 18. Players may participate on only one team in this tournament. Age groups for the (based on Fall 2006) divisions are as follows:

Under 19: Born August 1, 1987 or later
Under 17: Born August 1, 1989 or later
Under 16: Born August 1, 1990 or later
Under 15: Born August 1, 1991 or later
Under 14: Born August 1, 1992 or later
Under 13: Born August 1, 1993 or later
Under 12: Born August 1, 1994 or later
Under 11: Born August 1, 1995 or later
Under 10: Born August 1, 1996 or later

All teams are guaranteed a minimum of three games. We will have separate Competitive I (GA Classic, Athena A, B) and Competitive II (GA Challenge, Athena C, D, and Recreational) level groupings if entries permit. The tournament committee reserves the option to combine groupings as necessary. Entry fee for the 2007 tournament is $375 for U10’s; $400.00 for U11 & 12’s, $425.00 for U13 & up, which includes a $25.00 non-refundable application fee, payable with the application. No refunds after August 3, 2007.

The Athens 32nd Invitational is a USYSA sanctioned tournament. All teams MUST be affiliated with USYSA. Current (2006-2007 or 2007-2008 seasonal year) validated player passes must be presented at check in. Out of state teams are required to have a travel authorization on the appropriate form, approved by the home state association.
